Oy Vey

Well today is my birthday and I feel so old. Once you graduate from college, the years go by so fast!! I can't believe I am 26 so close to 30 and have been married for over 3 years!! I am an adult.....good or bad guess I can't change that. Sometimes it makes me sad that it is going so fast and other times I realize how lucky I am and life has worked out as I had dreamed it for the most part (the lack of my mom and my own children by now has not turned out....). I have a great husband, great friends and family, my very own house, and a pretty great career (opinions change daily on that haha). I am better off than most and I am so proud of what Ryan and I have accomplished, but I still feel old, like I wanna be 24 or 25 forever. Well too late now, 26 here I come.
Ok feeling a little better as I am blogging though I feel like a lunatic for writing all this, but aren't blogs for being a little crazy and getting your thoughts out..... haha. Anyway, Happy Birthday to me and all you other people getting old out there....
(I promise no more crazy posts like this and I want no comments from the peanut gallery....you know who you are)

Our Bedroom

So after 3 years of living in our house, we have finally started remodeling our bedroom!! YAY! As I said in the previous post, we ripped up our bedroom carpet over a year ago and wanted to refinish the floors. Today we painted it! I already knew the color scheme I wanted. My best friend, Stacy, and I picked out a beautiful comforter set and pictures a couple weeks ago....

The color is a little off in the picture but the stripes are brown and the blue part is more of a teal. The pictures I got are from Kirklands so you know they are nice!! haha The other wall hanging I got is actually a sconce and it will go over the bed....
Ryan and I bought an area rug last Monday to go at the end of the bed to keep our feetsies warm.......
So after all of that and after weeks of indecision, we picked the paint color yesterday. It is called Fawn's Leap but as Ryan says it looks like creamy chocolate milk. I agree; it looks so yummy and beautiful. Pictures just don't do it justice! So here is part of our paint job.....
The old color was like a tan purple ugly color so there is a big difference as you can see. Well that is all for now. I will post pictures when it is totally finished! Oh wait! One more picture....
This is the bedroom furniture that we picked out and this will be our Christmas present to each other. The bed has drawers underneath for more storage. Our bedroom is small so only one dresser (the one with the mirror) will fit along with 2 night stands!! Good night for now!!

OK, so Ryan and I decided (well I decided and Ryan finally agreed) to rip up the carpet in the living room. We knew that there were hardwood floors underneath because we ripped the carpet up in our bedroom like a year ago and they were original hardwood. The kicker was we weren't sure what condition they were in. Our bedroom floors were OK but would need refinished due to stupid people who do not know how to paint and dog pee stains. Since we were already going to refinish that someday, I wanted hardwood floors in the living room as well. I saw a friends house that had hardwood floors in the living room and it was gorgeous.

Anyway, Ryan was nervous they would be really bad but.......

SURPRISE, they were actually in pretty good shape. They do need refinished due to scratches and of course paint around the perimeter. I also don't like the color much, its too orange. We have decided to stain them a darker color. I am so excited!!!! Here is another picture. Even Kamie likes them!

So we plan on having someone come out the week of October 27th to redo them and fairl reasonably, too. Some people wanted $2000 for the bedroom, hallway, and living room, which are actually not very big in our tiny ranch. We could have gotten new floors for 1/2 that price so we said screw them and hired a cheaper guy. We actually saw one of his previous customers floor and he did an awsome job. I'll post more when they are finished!!!
