Ok I am not sure anyone reads this blog or not since no one comments but I guess I will keep blogging in case there is a poor soul who does read it....
So obviously I made it through surgery, though it feels like I barely did. I wasn't really even nervous Wednesday morning, I just wanted to get it over with. Of course my doctor was late getting to the hospital, so instead of going at 1, I went at 1:30. 30 min may not seem like a long time, it is when all you want is a drink of water! I get all checked in and ready. A girl from anesthesia comes in to start my IV. Of course she starts in my hand which I know she won't get but whatever. So the second try I tell her where to go. She numbs me this time and gets it without a problem. Then I am taken on a long journey to the OR. I was laying in the operating room getting all hooked up for surgery just waiting and the CRNA kept asking if I wanted something to help me relax and I kept saying I don't care because I wasn't all that nervous but finally I gave in and he gave me some good sleepy juice. Dr. Mooney then came in and made some remark about me not having alot to say but I really didn't care at the time cuz I was in lala land by that time!! Anyway, the next thing I remember is being in the recovery room feeling claustrophobic due to the mask they put on my face. grrrr. Warning TMI! Then I tell the nurse I feel like I have to pee or have a BM so she puts me on the bedpan (ewww) and I can't go and she tells me "I already emptied your bladder" (she straight cathed me and more on that later). So then I proceed to ask her what they found (all while on the very comfortable bedpan bt I didn't care because I was still half asleep) and I in fact have endometriosis, which they lasered away. I also had a cyst on my right ovary which they removed and cleaned out my uterus (I forget the technical term she said since I was so tired). By this time, I am having a ton of pain and pressure in my abdomen and up into my right shoulder. The nurse gives me a dose of fentanyl, which does nothing at all for me. She gives me 2 more doses and still it doesn't help so I just deal with the pain by now. She then tells me that I haven't been looking good and has been giving me some fluids through my IV. Anyway, I am off the bedpan by now and then she tells me I am going to have to get up into a chair. hahahaha But I do it anyway because I wanna go home and go to bed. I get taken to stage 2 recovery and I get ice water!!! yay! I also get a percocet for the pain (I don't recommend these, I about puked on the way home). The nurse (who is a male) states he needs to see my incisions and check my "vaginal bleeding" so I let him (eww). Apparently everything is ok. Then Ryan, Dad, Marty and Stacy are brought back to see me. I sit there for a while then get up to pee and then get dressed and go home!!
Overall the surgery went well. My belly was really bloated from the gas they put in my stomach (so it was easier to look around). I also have severe shoulder pain (and still do) from the gas. (long explanation needed, we will just say it is normal) I got 2 tiny incisions, one in my belly button and one on my lower right abdomen, that hurt more than you would think. I must admit that I am a big wimp though and i don't deal with pain well. It is a known fact that nurses make the worse patients!!
I also must say that I have the most wonderfu husband ever!! Ryan is taking such good care of me and is doing everything for me, though today I am on my own because he had to go back to work today. I was given specific instructions not to do anything. I really can't do anything anyway because the minute I take the heating pad from my shoulder, I get shooting nerve pains down my arm and it goes numb (all normal). So I am being lazy again!! Oh and yesterday we went to my dad's and Marty's house for dinner so I didn't have to worry about cooking. I really wasn't in the mood to eat and if I ate too much my belly would just get bloated and it would hurt even more so basically I ate a little and then took a nap and then ate dessert and came home and went to bed!! So exciting! Anyway, hope everyone had a Happy Thanksgivng!! I go back to see the doctor in 2 weeks and we will determine what to do from there!

So in case anyone doesn't know by now, I am having surgery November 26th (yes the day before Thanksgiving). Why you ask? My reproductive endocrinologist believes that I may have endometriosis on top of my PCOS. Odds are that I do since most women who have fertility issues have at least a mild case of endometriosis. The only way to diagnose and treat it is to have a laproscopy under general anesthesia. They will make an incision in my belly button and feed a camera in my abdominal cavity to look around and remove it if it is present. Although it seems like an easy surgery where nothing could go wrong, I am scared to death. Being a nurse makes you know too many things and all the things that could go wrong! Darn knowledge!! So just pray for me! Another thing is that I work Tuesday night and I have been warned that I may not wake up from anesthesia that well since I will be really tired! I am trying to get someone to work for me but the only person left is on sick leave with the shingles and she won't know if she can work until Monday and I have yet to ask her if she is even willing.... Just pray she is better and willing!! haha
Anyway, my wonderful husband decided that he wanted to get into an accident on the first day of snow for the winter season! haha Actually it wasn't his fault. A lady in front of him lost control of her car going down a hill and tried to correct and spun. Ryan tried to miss her but hit her in the back bumper. No one was hurt and the only damage was to her car and it was a cracked bumper. Her insurance agreed it was her fault so we don't have to worry about paying fines or increasing insurance. So I guess its all good!
Oh another prayer request I will throw out there is that if you remember in my last post about trying to find a day shift job etc etc and all the struggles, well there is a pretty good chance I can stay where I am at! A day shift position may open up soon in my unit so I will work 3 days a week 7a-7p! I'm sooooo excited at even getting an opportunity. So my boss knows I am interested and she just has to check with the rest of night shift, but I don't think anyone else would want it! So premature YAY!
Hope everyone has a Happy Thanksgiving and I will try to update on my surgery ASAP!

Sorry its been so long but nothing much has been happening on our end, but I will try to piece something together. One thing that seems to be a theme in my life recently is that I am meant to stay at my current job at this present moment. I'll explain: I have been applying and interviewing for jobs the last few months in hopes of finding a day shift mon-fri job because night shift is really wearing on me. I believe that I am a very qualified person for the variety of jobs that I have applied for but apparently the employers do not believe this. I just got another denial letter today...blah. I am not used to failure, but its just as well I suppose. I think that God is trying to tell me that I am supposed to stay an ICU nurse for now, which if I am honest, works out better for us for now. The money is good and when we have kids some day (soon I hope) I can continue to work full time since I only work 3 days a week and we would only need a sitter/daycare 2 days per week.
Anyway.......
We had a good weekend this week. Friday we went to this new little family restaurant which was pretty good and then to Walmart. Saturday Ryan worked and I worked at Malone for a few hours to help out and then we went over to our friends', Mark and Becky, for dinner. Yesterday we went to church and then lounged around and relaxed (and the seventh day you shall rest :-P). Today, we slept in and then did yard work (pulling dead plants and raking leaves). We are going to Life Group tonight at 6, which for those of you who don't know is bible study with several other couples that we do every Monday night. I work Tues Wed Thurs and then probably do something with Stacy and Shawn (hopefully :P) on Saturday. I miss them lots!!!
That's all for now!
